The Binghamton Mets, in conjunction with Catholic Charities of Broome County, are hosting an online auction of miscellaneous baseball memorabilia to benefit individuals and families impacted by the recent flooding in the Southern Tier. The auction will be hosted thought BMETS.com and is slated to begin at midnight Friday, September 30 and will run through Saturday, October 15. All proceeds will be donated to Catholic Charities of Broome County for distribution to those in need.

"As an organization that thrives thanks to this community's support, the Binghamton Mets were greatly saddened by the effect the recent floods had on the area," B-Mets President Mike Urda said. "With our neighbors in great need, the B-Mets could not stand idle. We are pleased to partner with Catholic Charities through this auction to make as great an impact as possible."

The highlighted items in the auction are: Jose Reyes' autographed, game-worn jersey from his 2011 rehab appearance with the B-Mets, the B-Mets 2011 blue and gray game-worn jerseys, autographed baseballs featuring the 1969 "Miracle Mets" and miscellaneous memorabilia featuring former Binghamton Mets' and New York Mets' players. Bidders are encouraged to visit the auction site often as additional items will be added throughout the two-week fundraiser.

The auction marks the second time that the B-Mets and Catholic Charities have partnered for flood relief. In the aftermath of the 2006 disaster, the two organizations combined forces to raise money as well.

"Catholic Charities of Broome County is proud to partner with the Binghamton Mets to help our neighbors during this time of devastation," Catholic Charities of Broome County public relations representative Marsha Maroney said. "Our Flood Relief Centers are receiving more people each day who need our help. The B-Mets stepped up to the plate to help during the 2006 floods and are once again showing their community spirit by hosting this fundraiser to give whatever help is needed."
